          invites applications for the position of:

         Occupational Therapist
        Full - Time Permanent - Melfort

Applications are invited for the position of full-time permanent Occupational Therapist in Melfort with duties commencing the beginning of the 2019 – 2020 school year. 
The Occupational Therapist’s role is a leadership position working with other members of our educational community in pursuit of a “Culture of Excellence” within NESD. Reporting to the Coordinator of Learning, the Occupational Therapist will work closely with, and form an integral part of a strong Student Support Services leadership team. 
The Occupational Therapist will provide specialist services in the area of occupational therapy within an educational setting.  The individual in this position will be expected to collaborate, using an environmental approach that responds to student needs in an inclusive classroom; to consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff; to assess students; to report to parents; to provide recommendations and classroom supports; and to write reports.  The occupational therapist will focus on the strength of the “fit” between students and their classroom environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Successfully completed an occupational therapy education program that is prescribed by SSOT bylaws; and successfully passed the examinations prescribed by the SSOT;
·         Hold or qualify for membership in the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists (SSOT) as a Practicing License Membership.
As well, the North East School Division will expect the Occupational Therapist to possess the following traits:

·         Work effectively in a team environment;
·         Demonstrate superior organization and planning skills;
·         Show evidence of a shared, reflective leadership style;
·         Demonstrate interest in professional development;
·         Show commitment to innovation in the area of occupational therapy; and
·         Demonstrate an understanding of and willingness to participate in professional learning communities.
