Our mentors include Kim Barthel, Lucy Jane Miller, Bruce Perry, Brene Brown, Marcia Garcia Winner and Dan Siegel, to name a few.  Our space is warm, cheerful and relaxed – we have one of the fewest free standing OT clinics and sensory gyms in the city – we pride ourselves on this space and it’s airy and homey feel.
Job Responsibilities:
Our Occupational Therapist (OT) will be well versed in solving problems and being self-directed and who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment. We work with a wide range of issues including fine motor, gross motor, behavioural, mindfulness, with a large emphasis on sensory processing disorder. OT job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Administering, scoring and interpreting pediatric assessments; have understanding of different funding systems within Alberta
  • Providing direct therapy through hands on, consultative, coaching and education of families and school staff
  • Liaising closely with parents, external team members, and internal team members;
  • Writing and presenting consultation notes and reports, such as IPPs, for internal and external use;
  • Participating in program development; goal setting
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent from an accredited University program;
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT);
  • Proof of current professional liability insurance;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation required;
  • Satisfactory criminal record check with Calgary Police Service
Other skills and job requirements:
  • Developed time management and organization skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator

Hours of work: flexible
Start Date: Can be negotiated
