Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Unit Manager for the Misericordia Child Health Clinics, the Mental Health Therapist is responsible for working with children and their families performing the role of a primary therapist for an identified case load (individual and family therapy) and for performing the role of a group therapist. Group therapy is delivered to pediatric patients and their families in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team of providers. The Mental Health Therapist will work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary Child Health team.

Qualifications:
·       One of the following educational credentials is required to be considered: Baccalaureate Degree (Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing; Bachelor of Social Work), or Masters' Degree (Masters of Arts in Psychology; Masters of Science in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing; Masters of Social Work), Masters of Clinical Counseling.
·       Current registration with the appropriate professional college or association is required.
·       Current registration with the appropriate college or association is required. College or association must be recognized under Alberta’s Health Professions Act (HPA).
·       Successful completion of licensing exams is required.
·       Authorization from the applicable professional college in other to perform psychosocial interventions.
·       Previous pediatric experience providing psychosocial interventions (individual / family / group therapy) with children and families.
·       Proven ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
·       Experience with electronic medical records (e.g. eClinician) is preferred.
